Communication
Communicating is key to making sure your family reunion runs without a hitch.
After you have your initial inquiries with family members near and far you need
to continue to keep the communication flowing. Here are some other times
and ways to get the message to everyone in the family. Utilize the U.S. mail
as a base of your communications.
Save the Date Card: Send this out 6-12 months
ahead of time to
make sure people can put aside the date.
Event Invitation Flier: 2-6 months before the reunion, mail out a
formal invitational flier with all of the details of the event.
Reminder Note: Mail this 1 month before the reunion to get
everyone excited about the upcoming reunion.
Family Newsletters: It's not a bad idea to publish a family newsletter
to mail out between initially setting the date and the reunion to
keep family members informed on all aspects of the family and
the upcoming event.
E-mail: Try utilizing regular e-mails to family members to keep
everyone up-to-date and excited about the reunion.
Website: Check into some of the free internet website services
available and put up your family reunion website where everyone can
check in on a regular basis to keep up-to-date.
